So I am finally here in the wonderful land of Australia. I read Elder Todd's email a few minutes ago and I can't help but echo his comments. Those were that I'm not exactly sure who still reads these emails or who still cares, but I am going to still write it anyway haha. Anyway, I flew in on like monday, tuesday, wednesday, whatever you want to call it. But I got here on Wednesday morning here at about 6:50 am. Well Australia is currently going on strike or something in their customs department, so they were pretty understaffed and we waited in the line to get into the country for about an hour and a half or two hours. I'm just glad that I got all of my luggage though hahah. So anyway, moving right along, we met President and Sister Henderson at the airport and we threw our luggage in a van and drove off the the mission office. I'm still not used to the whole left side of the road thing, but I get more used to it every day haha. Anyway, we did a whole bunch of paper work and such at the office and then they shipped us off to the mission home. There, we had about an hour meeting thing to just kind of introduce us to stuff. Following that, we met our trainers and went home. My trainer's name is Elder Wood and he is seriously so awesome! It is his last transfer in the mission, but he isn't trunkie at all and he is always really hyped to do the work! It's so awesome! I'm in a trio though with another elder named Elder Zou. He is a native from China and he is pretty awesome too! Hopefully being around him a lot will help my Chinese.
Speaking of Chinese, I'm not exactly sure about how I feel about that at the moment. It's so strange how I can go from being basically fluent at the MTC to not knowing a single thing once I fly in. Hahah I can understand most of what goes one in the lessons though, so that is a start I guess. I just have to be really wise with that hour of language study that I get. Other than that, hopefully all goes well!
This week We had something called Wheat Bix for breakfast. So we basically put giant things of wheat in our bowls and poor some milk on them. It's pretty gross. Hahah oh and at game night the other night with our investigators, we played Ninja Destruction and one of the other elders sliced open my pocket. It was hilarious, but I'm still not sure if I can sew it back up. Guess we'll see. I just found out that I don't get very much time to do all of this, so sorry if the email seems rushed! I'll talk to you all again next week!
Love,
Elder Jackson
PS. Also just found out that it is in the mission rules that I can't "instant message" anyone. Which means that I can't have a conversation with you over email. So I'm sorry. But have a great week!
