Hello everyone! I'm back! Haha this week was a great one and we've been having a great time doing the Lord's work and teaching heaps! We are still working on our teaching skills and my Chinese, but it is coming along pretty well! I feel that Elder Li is really helping in that department, so I'm excited! I also have been trying to help him with English and it is harder than I thought it would be. Hahah oh well, we are both just trying our hardest together! This week was really cool though cause he taught me the "we'll bring the world his truth" in Chinese. so that is the Army of Helaman one and it's really fun for me to sing it cause I actually understand what all the words mean haha. So I've been walking around singing it haha.
Anyway, this past week we were trying to get away from our favorite contacting bus stop and so we started knocking some doors. We ran into a whole bunch of uninterested Chinese people, but there was one Aussie man who asked how long it would take to share the message and I told him 5 minutes. So he just stood on his porch and said go. Now, I know this is easy for most missionaries because they do it all the time, but it kinda through me off guard. So I started teaching the restoration to him in english and I realized that it was kinda hard because I was translating what I would say in chinese back into english. So that was kind of a weird experience. but anyway, I got through the whole thing and realized that I don't know the first vision in english either. But as I taught him, I could feel the holy ghost testify to him and my of what I was saying was true. It was definitely a very strong feeling and he kind of stood there for a moment. I pointed out the spirit and invited him to act on what we had shared but he decided he was pretty busy and maybe another day he would learn more. I know that this experience probably only planted a seed for him, but as I rode away I really felt that it might have been more for me. I know that the story of the restoration is more than just a story and that Jesus Christ leads his church through a living prophet on the earth today. I really felt that testimony grow through this experience.
Last one, The other day we were working with our potential miracle. (We met him last week and we have a baptismal date with him for the 28th right before he goes back to china). He didn't want to come to church cause he had tests to study for, but by the end of a very Holy ghost led discussion, he ended up saying "I can't wait to come to church because I have studied for my test and now with these extra blessings from church, I know I will do great!" He has incredible faith and we can't wait to work with him more this week! Anyway, that was my week! It was an amazing one! Love and miss you all! Have a great week!
