This week was really tough. Hahaha but so is every week. So no worries. We did have some serious highlights that I will now highlight for you.
In the beginning of the week, we met a Korean man who wanted to meet with us...then we met him the next day and set a baptismal date for the 21st of may! So that was amazing...we didn't even plan it and yet I heard the invitation coming out of my mouth before I could think twice...It's kinda weird in english haha. Anyway, It was a great meeting and we felt the spirit. He cancelled our follow up appointment cause he was busy, but next time we can meet with him we will bring a Korean from our ward and our Korean Zone leader....so yeah.. We have some solid fire power if we can get another meeting with him...we are optimistic!
Next Highlight was that the other elders in our district had a baptism and I was invited to translate the meeting from Chinese to english....So that's easy enough right? If I dont know what they are saying then I can just make somthing up right? Hahah thats what I thought...But when I got there they also said that a part of the program was in English and I would need to translate that to Chinese for the baptismal candidate. So I was pretty nervous for the and I had had a cold recently and my Chinese just kinda sounded rough and scratchy...hard to explain. But when you have a cold and you are speaking a tonal language sometimes it just doesn't work haha. But I said a prayer to be able to help Peter be able to understand the words that were said and the commitment he was making. So afterwards, I translated and I felt pretty good about it. After the meeting, Peter said that he understood it all and he was surprised how quick I was translating and how smoothly it flowed. I was pretty happy that it all worked out and I know that Heavenly Father's hand was in that. I am so grateful for the gift of tongues.
Last Highlight is that last night we had a lesson with a homestay student back in mudgeeraba. We called up CJ Talepa (RM from Taiwan...Elder Jensen knew him) and had him come help! It was a crazy lesson and actually in terms of the investigator, didn't go very well. But we all three of us were able to express our love for him and for this gospel. I could feel the power of the Spirit working through me and it was just an amazing feeling. Plus CJ is a rock star. So yeah that was great!
Hope you all have a great week! Keep it up!
