This week has been great! I have to apologize for last week's email because I was very rushed. I didn't know the tricks of the library here, so I cut out while I was still writing and then it didn't let me back on. I just barely was able to get on another missionaries computer for a couple minutes and send this email from where I had left off. So sorry about that! Also this week there was a public holiday on monday, so that is why this one is late. But I need to tell you all of the things that I was planning on saying last week too!
We had a baptism my first week here! It was amazing and this convert named Jerry is honestly just so so solid. He bore a wonderful testimony and I was just blown away. It was a great testimony to me of the fruits of missionary work in my first week, so that was amazing! Also we just find people at the bus stop and take them into our office and that is where we meet with them. I can't remember if I mentioned that last week or not haha. But the work is going great and having a lot of fun! The language is so tough and it's sped up like 20x faster than in the MTC. But I hope and pray that it will come and I keep doing my best, so that's really all that I can do!
We had orientation last week which was really awesome! My mission president is a great man and I'm really excited to be here in this mission. It is a ton different from the MTC, and I can't tell if the time goes by faster but I think it does haha. So I guess we'll see. I can already see so many changes in the way I react to things and I'm just really excited to keep growing and becoming the man that God wants me to be.
We have several investigators that I'm really excited about. One of them doesn't understand why he can't just be baptized in every Christian church ahaha. So that is kind of a problem. We've taught him about authority about 4 times and it's just not clicking. We finally made some progress the other day and hopefully if he keeps his commitment then he'll be able to start to understand. I still haven't seen conference because they broadcast it a week later here, but I have never been so excited for conference in my life! I honestly can't even wait! I love and miss you all! Have a great week!
Love,
Elder Jackson
