So this week has gone by really fast and really slow at the same time. But it's been a party, so that's been really good. I leave the MTC in about an hour, so I'm getting pretty nervous. But I'm sure it's going to be good and I'm going to have a great experience. All I can do at this point is rely on the Lord. This week has been pretty standard. I have spent a lot of time with my district, with Elder Jackson, and I've seen Elder Pittard and Elder Gunnel a ton! But they both left already so that's kind of funny haha. Yesterday, Lloyd Newell from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir came and did the first ever "MTC and the Spoken Word" So that was really really cool. And also, apparently he is the guy that says "This is the one hundred and eighty fifth annual general conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Speakers for this session have been chosen..." you get the just. Hahah but he did that for us over the pulpit yesterday and I've never been so excited to hear that voice in my life. So yesterday was really fun!
I'm pretty stoked to fly out and get into the real world. I've decided to dedicate a whole paragraph to how excited I am to eat at the Cafe Rio in the SLC airport. The food here is pretty good, but it just gets old after about 4 weeks. And then by week 9 it's just kinda rough haha. So even though the Cafe Rio at the airport is on the bottom end of the totem pole as far as statewide Cafe Rio's go, I'm still really stoked to go eat there. It's going to be really really good. Hahah oh and my travel leader is Adam Demke today so that is pretty crazy. It's going to be really cool to travel with him all the way to Brisbane. I kind of just got off topic, so let me just bring it back. I can't wait to go get a pork burrito hahah.
Our district all did blessings of comfort on Saturday and then Elder Jackson and I each gave each other one last night. It was really cool and I felt the spirit so strongly. I am nervous and scared, but I'm also really excited to go start the work! I'll talk to you all again when I'm in Australia. Adieu.
-Elder Jackson
PS. I almost forgot to explain the subject line. "Shenme Dongxi" is a Chinese idiom that literally means "What stuff", but kind of has the meaning of "What in the world" or "what the heck". So that's probably my most used Chinese phrase haha. That's the subject today because it's going to be so weird to leave the MTC. So, like usual, shenme dongxi pretty much sums up my feelings.
