So this week was pretty fun! Lots of good things happening in our area that we are really excited about! My Chinese companion got emergency transferred to the city so it's just been Elder Wood and I! To start out our week, we met with Steve and Queenie again and we committed them to a baptismal date on the 21 of November!! I am seriously so excited for that! I really hope that they will continue to progress and find out that the Book of Mormon is the word of God! Also, we were finding and we found someone who likes to smoke and drink and she wanted to meet with us. Well we met and it was a pretty good lesson. When I asked her what her hobbies were, she said "Drinking, smoking, and partying". So thats pretty fun eh? Hahaha well we told her we had an awesome party and we took her to game night. I thought it was a pretty fun game night and we tried to involve her as much as possible. Afterward I asked her how she liked it and she told me that parties aren't as interesting or fun without beer. So that wasn't where I was hoping that she would go haha. But then she came to church and once again felt that it wasn't really indusive to her partying lifestyle. I just wish that we could explain to her that a little bit of discipline will make her so much happier. She isn't buying it though, so hopefully she'll continue to meet with us this week.
Also, we basically live in the Ghetto so I thought I'd throw that in there. Sometimes we are doing personal study and people all around our neighborhood start blasting Indian rap music and who knows what else haha. It's crazy cause its at like 8 in the morning! Don't these people have jobs?? Hahaha Oh well though. Also, Gas stations are really weird here. You can only pull up on one side so you just have to wait if there are cars on the sides where your gas cap is and they're all using it. Even if the other stalls that go the opposite way are open! I don't know if that made any sense, but it's weird. Also, there is no "Pay at the pump" and it is illegal to have your cell phone out at the pump. Weird eh? hahaha so that's all very interesting and some Australian facts for you.
This week there were a couple times where I was really hungry and our recent convert friend Moroni came and bought us some dinner! It was really awesome! I've always loved Captain Moroni in the scriptures and I think that it just must be something about the name! Hahah so it was amazing and he's awesome to us! Unfortunately, on Nov 4 we're going to experience a lot of changes in our area. Not only will I get a new companion, but most of the members of our branch will go back to China for holiday and our branch will be reduced to a twig. So we just have to build it back up again! Hopefully all goes well there! I am so grateful for members who are willing to help in our lessons and for the testimonies and experiences that they bring. It helps so much and I know that as members and missionaries work together, so much good can come! I would encourage you all to find out where the missionaries are where you are living and see if you can help them out in a lesson! I know that it will strengthen your testimony of what you know to be true. I have seen it so much and I didn't realize that I was taking the gospel for granted before I came out here. I miss you all and I hope that you have a great week!
