Hello everyone!
I think that the titles for these emails just keep getting more and more creative. I can't wait to see what happens at the end of two years hahaha. But anyway, there is a lot to go over so lets get started. This week we sang backup to the Nashville Tribute Band for choir, so that was sick! They are a band that pays tribute to Joseph Smith and Jesus and Pioneers and stuff. They were really good and it was a ton of fun cause thats our first taste of actual music since being here. The language is coming, but it is really hard and slow. But I'm doing pretty well with it and I'm confident that with the Lord's help, all things are possible and I can learn it.
There is an elder in my district named Elder Ball and he is hilarious. He never spoke Chinese before coming here so he makes up all these funny mnemonics to remember the words. So we call them "ball isms" and they are really funny so we always remember the words. He also has a few funny quotes that I'd like to share. The first is "If everyone in this country spent 9 weeks in the MTC then we would probably be like 200 years more advanced". The next is "Those English speakers have it made. I mean, if you didn't have to learn Chinese then what is so hard about a mission? I go into lessons and I don't understand anything" Hahahah so those are all pretty true. English elders come and go while we're here. But we are all excited to learn the language and it's coming well!
The next story is pretty funny and for the record, I have no recollection of it. On thursday morning, I woke up and I had though we had missed our alarm like 6 times. I had had a dream that it was going off and then it would stop and then start again and we just weren't waking up. But when I woke up, Elder Thompson (an elder in my room) told me the story. It was early thursday morning at about 4 am. He woke up and wondered who on earth had set their alarm for 4 am. So he got out of his bed and went looking throughout our room. So he walked over to the bed and turns out it was good old elder Jackson making alarm clock noises. So he shoved me and I would stop and he would go back up to his bed. Well apparently this happened about 6 times, so turned out my dream wasn't actually a dream hahaha. So he was pretty mad I guess and we were both exhausted all of that day. But no worries right? All's well that ends well.
This week has been a party and I've really felt the spirit! It's been great to hear from all of you and I hope that you have a wonderful week! Love and miss you all!
