This week was really great! I got a new missionary companion and he is a native from Taiwan! I have had headaches this past week because we only do things in Chinese because he really doesn't know English! So that is pretty hard, but I hope that my Chinese is improving! Haha he is great and really excited to get the work done!
This week we had some trouble with our progressing investigators. Steve and Queenie are probably not going to be ready for baptism on the 21 because they had to go to the hospital for an emergency the other day and couldn't come to church or meet with us all week. Something was wrong with steve, but I'm not sure what yet. We are going to visit them tomorrow and hopefully get them ready for the next week! I hope that that goes well. We are going to need a miracle. However, speaking of miracles, this week we got a referral from some of the english elders and went over there yesterday. We found a 19 year old chinese kid there and he seemed really interested in joining. We taught him God and prayer and then left. As we walked out, Elder Li said that he is leaving to go back to China on November 30th. I felt like we needed to invite him to baptism and try and help him be baptized before that. So, we did something that I would never do. We turned around and knocked on his door again. I'm glad that I followed the Holy Ghost though because he let us back in, and we taught him the rest of the Restoration and he promised that he would read the book of mormon and start to pray about it. We didn't get him on a baptismal date (Even though we invited him), but he still seems really interested and he could definitely be a potential miracle! So I really hope that goes well! In terms of our other investigators, we have about three others who are kind of stuck in mud and we're doing our best to get them out of it! This is a great opportunity for us to improve our teaching skills and keep focusing on their needs, so I'm excited!
It is getting really hot here and there have also been some storms! We went and did service for a member a couple days ago and it started hailing heaps as we went there. It was a very tropical storm and it was really fun to drive in haha. But we got there save and were able to help him with his garden and chop down some trees in the rain! It was fun! Haha I love this work and the spirit I feel everyday as we study and teach! I know this is the Lord's work! Have a great week!
